The Slimline Solution
When a housing bore or shaft shoulder leaves almost no room for a bearing, the 10 series cylindrical roller bearing is often the only practical answer. For a 50 mm bore, a 1010 bearing is only 16 mm wide compared with 22 mm for a 210 — saving 6 mm of axial space without abandoning the line-contact radial capacity that ball bearings cannot match.

• Bore range: 20 mm (1004) to 120 mm (1024)
• Width: typically 12-28 mm, versus 14-38 mm for the equivalent 2 series
• Cr range: approximately 8 kN (1004) to 130 kN (1024 E)
• Limiting speed (grease): 8,000-12,000 r/min in small bores; 1,500-2,500 r/min at 100 mm+ bore
• Cages: predominantly machined brass or glass-fibre nylon due to the narrow cross-section
Design Configurations
All four standard configurations are available: N10, NU10, NJ10 and NUP10. Because the 10 series is often selected for precision applications, P5 tolerance is commonly requested alongside C3 radial clearance. The separable rings simplify mounting in cramped housings.
