Spherical roller bearings consist of an outer ring with a spherical raceway and an inner ring with a double-raceway, one or two cages, and one group of spherical rollers. As the center of the spherical raceway of the outer ring coincides with the center of the bearing, it makes it have the self-aligning property. Spherical roller bearings can adjust angular error or flexion caused by the angle of the axle and Bearing housing or axle bend. It has a high load-carrying capacity for radial load and axle load in two directions.
Features And Benefits Of Spherical Roller Bearings
Spherical roller bearings comprising barrel-shaped convex rollers, double-row inner ring and outer ring are classified into four types: R, RH, RHR and RHA, according to their internal structure.
With the bearing designed such that the circular arc center of the outer ring raceway matches with the bearing center, the bearing is self-aligning, insensitive to errors of alignment of the shaft relative to the housing, and to shaft bending.
Spherical roller bearings can accommodate radial load and axial load in both directions, which makes them especially suitable for applications in which heavy load or impact load is applied.
The tapered bore type can be easily mounted/dismounted by using an adapter or withdrawal sleeve.

Spherical roller bearings are self-aligning bearings designed for heavy radial loading. They automatically compensate for large angular errors (shaft misalignments). They are usually of the double row design, both the rows of the rollers having common spherical raceways in the outer ring. This feature of this bearing has great practical importance in those cases where it is difficult to obtain exact parallelism between the shaft and housing both axes. So these bearings are suitable where misalignment can arise from mounting errors or from deflection of the shaft. They have the ability to take static as well as dynamic misalignment. Spherical roller bearings are particularly suitable for carrying heavy loads. They are commonly found in Industrial Gear boxes, Conveyors, Cement Grinding Rolls, Sugarcane crushers and passenger coach axle boxes of Railways.
