ZZ Group universal joint bearings are manufactured with cold forged or machined cup needle roller bearings, incorporating a closed end, and are for use in various types of application. They are used in the automotive industry, for joints in commercial vehicle propeller shafts, and also in other industries, for special applications.
Universal joint consists of spider(cross) and 4 grease-filled roller bearings. It can transmit large torque at low friction. Spider with journal pegs and bearing cases as outer ring were hot forged or cold formed and machined. They are later carburized in furnace so that increased ruggedness and wear resistance are obtained. Parts are finally ground to designed size under severe tolerance. Oil seal as well as dust cover are also in use to protect internal journal area from intrusion of foreign material. Variety of grades and materials are selected to respond to extreme conditions such as very hot / very cold temperatures.
* Stronger body for longer life.
* U J Cross cups are processed by cold forging for increased strength.
* High quality seals avoid leakage of grease and restricts water & dust entry.
* Longer service life
* Needle lock to prevent the needle to come out at the time of installation.
U-joints are available with two hub styles; solid and bored. Solid hubs do not have a machined hole. Bored hubs have a hole and are named for the hole shape; round, hex, or square style. Two bored styles that deviate from these common shapes are splined, which have longitudinal grooves inside the bore; and keyed, which have keyways to prevent rotation of the U-joint on the shaft.
Our Universal Joints can withstand a higher tolerance of short and prolonged exposure to a wide range of oils, and chemicals, whether it be fully submerged or just exposed to the elements. The nitrile rubber can endure extreme temperatures from -40°F to +250°F without compromising functional or structural integrity.
