Spherical Bearings, also known as spherical plain bearings or ball joint bearings, are mechanical components used to accommodate rotational or angular misalignment between two machine parts. They consist of an inner ring with a spherical convex outside surface and an outer ring with a corresponding concave inside surface.

Spherical bearings can be categorized into different types based their construction and design:
Radial Spherical Bearings: These bearings primarily support radial loads and allow for limited axial movement. They have a single row of balls or rollers between the inner and outer rings.
Angular Contact Spherical Bearings: These bearings can support both radial and axial loads and are designed to handle higher thrust loads. They have two rows of balls or rollers inclined at an angle to accommodate axial forces.
Thrust Spherical Bearings: These bearings are specifically designed to handle axial loads and provide high load-carry capacity in one direction. They have asymmetrical raceways to accommodate the thrust load.
Spherical bearings are typically made from steel or other durable materials and may be lubricated with grease oil to reduce friction and wear. They are available in various sizes and configurations to suit different application requirements.
It's important to note that while spherical bearings offer flexibility and misalignment compensation, they not provide precise positioning like other types of bearings such as linear bearings or precision ball bearings.
